Congratulations to Matthias Mann who has been awarded the 2012 Leibniz Prize
Proteins are the building blocks and molecular machines of life and they are involved in virtually all cellular processes. Professor Matthias Mann from Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research and the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry has been awarded the 2012 Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize for his development of methods for analysis of proteins using mass spectrometry. The Leibniz Prize is the most important and prestigious award to individual scientists in Germany with a prize money of 2.5 million €.
