Matthias Mann – Körber European Science Prize winner 2012
Professor Matthias Mann from Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research and the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry has been awarded the Körber Prize 2012.
The Körber Prize honors outstanding and excellent scientists working on particularly innovative research projects. Matthias Man receives the Prize for his original and innovative work on the proteome, the entirety of all the proteins of a living organism. Matthias Mann is one of the main pioneers behind the method that enables mass spectrometry analysis of proteins. In 2010, Matthias Mann and his team were the first to successfully sequence the complete proteome of a living organism. – a yeast cell, which contains more than 4,000 proteins.
